Menotomy lands
orange leaves upon a single tree
first sign of autumn

shrill drone of insects
green lawn dappled by sunlight
and wind in the leaves

after the day’s heat
cool breezes under dark skies
delicious relief

supine under trees
latticework of green, blue sky
doing the yin work

forsythia popped
cold grey sky, fingertips chilled
when will spring get here?

sun shines on first snow
bright from the dramatic sky
winter blue, pine green

leaves against grey sky
winter’s chill but still yellow
carpeting the ground

standing on sunshine
while all around you winter
winches tight its grip
