luminous feathers
to deepest cornstalk, the grass
softens the hot sun
Early Summer Haiku: Bare Feet
bare feet in the grass
hot sun overhead, in May
with my sandals off
Red in Tooth and Claw Haiku
in the summer grass
the cat finds a wounded bird
and begins to play
High Summer
grass high and dry and
seeded as wheat
tips too close for focus
belly on the blanket beside it
a bowl of blueberries,
almost gone
the rain pretends to come
but no one cares
not even the cat
